The British Horological Institute.
This is a very good site with many pages including links to other commercial and non commercial sites and a list of repairers in each county. 

 

American Watchmakers Institute.
This is similar to The British Horological Institute and is well worth a visit.

The National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Inc.  
  This is a very good site for the collector.

Non Horological sites

 

Claymills Pumping station Burton on Trent.

This is a Victorian sewerage pumping station with 4 large steam engines and numerous small ones. Their is a large Victorian workshop with working machines driven by steam, also a very fine DC generating system.

Leawood Pump

Situated in the Derwent valley in Derbyshire, this 1849 steam engine pumps water from the river into the canal. It is a not well known gem of the Cromford canal, still in excellent condition and doing its original job. (Note opening times)
